Around the World Tour: Our Visit to Poland This Month

This month, our “Around the World To” adventure took us to the beautiful country of Poland and what a wonderful journey it was!

Exploring Iconic Sights

We spent time learning and discussing all about Polish culture, history, and traditions. From its stunning landscapes and historic cities to its rich heritage, our residents really enjoyed discovering more about this fascinating country. The conversations were full of curiosity and smiles as we shared stories and facts about Poland.

To make the day extra special, we enjoyed a Polish inspired lunch that was absolutely delicious:

Pierogi tasty dumplings filled with meat, served with mixed vegetables 😋

And for dessert, a delightful strawberry cheesecake that everyone loved! 🥰

To top it all off, we raised a glass of refreshing Coca Cola and toasted to a fun and flavourful day! 🩷

These themed days are always a hit with our residents, sparking curiosity, laughter, and lively conversations. It’s a joy to explore different parts of the world together, even from the comfort of home.

Thank you to everyone who helped bring a little bit of Poland to life from the decorations to the delicious food it truly felt like a transatlantic trip!

Reflections on Our Journey

It was a truly enjoyable trip “around the world” together, filled with learning, laughter, and of course, great food! These cultural journeys always bring such joy and connection, and Poland was no exception.

The team are always responsive to our requests in a very positive way. They hold events constantly, which keep the residents happy, interested and promotes their health in this way. They’re forward thinking, by taking residents whenever possible on one to one basis days out. Their page on social media has almost daily updates within the home, exhibiting pictures of the residents enjoying singing, drawing, painting, puzzles etc. I have never known a care home with such a caring outlook from top to bottom.

Lovely home, my mum is very happy here. The staff are amazing and very caring, food is good mum is diabetic and well taken care of. Mum has her hair done regularly which we love. Thank you to the manager and all the staff they do a marvellous job.

Can’t praise the staff enough. Lovely homely feel with lovely gardens. All staff listen to requests and understand individual needs. Dad is assisted with all care when needed but also makes correct judgements with my dad when he feels he can manage. All staff seemed happy to be there and always greeted with smiles a good vibes. Keep up the good, hard work.

If anyone is looking for care for their loved one then Nightingales is the place. My brother is so happy and is absolutely thriving. The staff are always happy to help and greet you with smiles. He’s been there for 6 months now and all my worries are behind me as I know he’s being cared for with love and affection. My recommendation is 100!

Nightingale is a friendly, well-run care home. The Manager and Deputy Manager are very hard working, accessible and continuously progressing Nightingale to provide a pleasant environment for all its residents. They cater for a large range of needs with the utmost professionalism in a friendly and efficient way. On a personal note, I feel my parents are very well catered for. They are safe, well attended and all the staff are warm and friendly so giving a family feel for every resident.
